Current Sermon Series
Our goal from the beginning was to become a community of Christians transformed in Christ, through the power of His Word.
In order to fulfill this goal, it was necessary to study a Scripture programme that would help us to understand better not only the meaning of “transformation”, but also the way it can function in our lives.
Thus, the first year was dedicated to the foundation. We started with the truth that a Transformed Church is a church with a well-built vision, we considered that, above all, it was extremely important to define our Goal and the Pillars on which we wanted to build this Church. We studied the Book of Acts, following the model of the Primary Church built by Jesus Christ and His disciples.
In the second year we focused upon the relationship domain, taking into account that a Transformed Church needed to be an example in relationships. We began with Ruth, where we discovered that the key of healthy relationships was the Love of sacrifice.
Knowing that Sin is a continuous obstacle for our relationships, we realized that, in order to have healthy relationships, we had to find a solution against Sin: the solution of our healthy relationships. For this, we studied The Seven Cardinal Sins.
From the beginning, the major challenge for the Church was and still is its unity among its Body’s elements.. In order to understand this better, we chose the Book of Ephesians- The Gospel of Relationships.
Finally, we focused upon the Family domain by discussing a few subjects connected with family relationships.
After we built the vision of our Church, we strengthened our relationships in the Body, we passed to action. Our faith needs to be reflected through facts that show Christ’s goodness. Our year’s theme was: A transformed Church is a church that gets involved.
For 2007-2008 we chose a book from the New Testament and one from the Old Testament. We gazed upon the Book of James and the Book of Nehemiah.
James’s Book is a practical one, but it is based on a deep theology. The main theme of this book is our active, practical faith. For James, Faith cannot function on its own. It needs to be proved through facts. Faith always co-works through its facts. Facts come to prove, to show the real faith which someone claims to have. From the Book of James we learned that a transformed Christian had an active Faith.
From January 2008 we started to study the Book of Nehemiah. We saw a man of action, who is an example for many Christians who are leaders in the Church. He was a man of prayer and a man of faith who followed the leading principle through serving. A leader is aware of how important is to keep a balance between the addiction towards God and the personal responsibility. We’ll learn from him the model of the Christian who gets involved.
“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip His people to do every good work.” (2 Timothy 3: 16-17).
