What you should expect when visiting Metanoia
You should expect God to speak to you through Scripture. Preaching God’s Word is our main priority, so, remember to bring your Bible and a notebook when you come to visit us; you might want to take notes. If you need CDs with sermons (or some Christian books) you can find them at the end of each church service.
You should expect God to speak to you heart through worship. Worship in Metanoia is dynamic, lively, in Spirit and Truth. That is why we respect each others’ freedom in worship, with the boundaries of common sense and of edifying the whole Body. You’d better be prepared to sing with all your heart! Our worship style is rather contemporary but the repertoire is so chosen to build up and speak to all different age groups and generations.
You should expect God to answer your prayers. If you have a problem, some struggles, some difficulties, or others of the kind, please do not hesitate to ask our elders to pray with you and for you. We believe strongly in the power of prayer, therefore if you need support in prayer, please write to us about you and your need and we will pass on your note to our prayer teams, for your cause to be upheld before The Lord by many of our prayer warriors.
You should expect God to make you sit in church by all kinds of people. Our congregation welcomes all social categories, so, you shouldn’t be surprised if next to you there will be a doctor, a worker, a policeman or a street child, a lawyer, a student, a teacher or former hard rock fan, a theologian or a bartender. We celebrate the Grace of God who calls all people to repentance and the knowledge of Christ, and we are being extra careful not to be ourselves obstacles in their search for Christ!
You should expect God to speak to your children, too! We would like to encourage you to bring your children too, to our church services! During the Sunday morning service from 11:15 there are Bible school classes for children of all ages. There are several classes for younger kids, divided on age levels, and our Bible teachers are the best trained both spiritually and pedagogically. You children will learn about God and the truth of the Gospel through singing, through The Word taught at their level of understanding, through interactive games, activities, and discussions. Meanwhile, you can sit in church and enjoy the program without being preoccupied or distracted by their activity.
For the Sunday morning services we have a special room for kids (a nursery), where the church program can be watched on TV.
You should expect to find out God’s expectations of you! In Metanoia we call upon The Lord and rely on Him for blessing over our ministry. Thus we believe that He is present at all our services and all our activities. When you come to church, we’d like to encourage you to come with an open and humble heart, prepared to be spoken to and touched by God. Your attitude, your words, your participation matters to God!
To be practical, we’d like to tell you that the purpose of our meetings is glorification of edification of each and every believer in Christ. Thus, our kind request and expectation on everybody is to not draw attention on themselves through their clothes (we believe in decency, modesty and simplicity), their body language or their presence. If you have noticed things you don’t like, or don’t approve, at the end of the church service you may contact one or our staff or volunteers and talk to them in private about your concern. God calls us to live in peace wit all people and seek holiness, therefore, we, at Metanoia want to create the environment for His expectations of us to be best fulfilled.
